Students Form New Economics Association

adamsmithBy Lindsey McCoy – Several William Jewell students with an interest in economics are forming a new organization here on campus – The William Jewell Economics Association. The intent is to bring a deeper understanding and appreciation of economics as a supplement to formal courses. The President of the new association is Alex Holden, Vice President is Jordan McMurray and Treasurer/Communications is Dean Pinhas. Dr. Yuriy Bots, Dr. Gregg Whittaker and Director of Creativity and Innovation Landon Young are serving as faculty advisors.

The club will meet weekly to discuss current and relevant economic topics happening in today’s world. In addition, they plan to have a guest speaker once a month and will watch a documentary together each month.

The Economics Club will hold the first meeting early in the spring term.

For further information, contact President Alex Holden ( or check out the Facebook page titled “William Jewell Economics Association”. This page gives students and professors the option to post relevant and interesting articles or videos all in one place.
