Delta Mu Delta Initiates New Members In Spring Ceremony

busdept_deltamulogoBy Emily Scott – The Alpha Lambda Chapter of Delta Mu Delta, a national honor society in Business, initiated thirteen new members on Sunday, April 27th.  The new initiates along with Delta Mu Delta leadership and faculty advisor Jean Hawkins, all gathered in Grand River Chapel to perform an initiation ceremony. President Chris Reimer executed the initiation ceremony while professor Hawkins highlighted the achievements of all the new initiates throughout their college careers thus far.

Delta Mu Delta upholds high scholarship in the field of business. Membership requires achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher while having completed at least half of the work required for a degree. Students must also be in the top 20% of their graduating class. Initiates are recognized for their scholastic achievement and for distinguishing themselves within the Department of Business and Leadership.

The new members were given a pin, certificate of initiation, and cords to wear at graduation. Reimer said, “ It was really exciting to see such a large class of new members. It was great seeing faces that I knew, and I have no doubt that these students deserve the distinction that Delta Mu Delta represents.”
