I am often asked about what makes our graduates successful. The answer to this question is not simplistic and incorporates many aspects of life before Jewell, life on the hill and opportunities they are provided upon graduation. However, one thing that is consistently present is that our students are curious. This is a characteristic that forces them to be discontent with the status quo and constantly look for ways to make things better. In the Department of Business and Leadership we work to develop the curiosity in our students so they will always be challenged to ask questions and create positive change wherever they find themselves. This creative discontent is a hallmark of a Jewell student.

Sincerely, Dr. Kelli Schutte, Chair of the Department of Business and Leadership
