By Vanessa Palier – William Jewell’s Alpha Lambda Chapter of Delta Mu Delta delivered invitation letters to prospective members on March 4, with new member induction scheduled for Saturday, April 27 during Family Weekend. The event is open to all.
Delta Mu Delta is the International Honor Society in Business. The Alpha Lambda Chapter was established on campus on October 28, 1970. This honor society is open to eligible business students that are of junior or senior standing with the college. Delta Mu Delta is affiliated with the ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs), located in East Lansing, MI. The ACBSP promotes academic excellence in higher education. The society’s letters stand for Dia Mathesos Dynamis, which signifies DMD’s motto, “Through Knowledge, Power.” DMD offers involved students lifetime recognition for academic achievement, scholarship opportunities, and networking opportunities at the undergrad level.
Dr. Jean Hawkins facilitates the Alpha Lambda Chapter at William Jewell. Current officers are: Chloe Taylor Brown, President; Ron Johnson, Vice President; Heather Walton, Secretary; Nate Kroeker, Treasurer; Erin Smalley, Senior Advisor.
Honorary Members include Dr. David Sallee, Dr. Anne Dema, Dr. Kelli Schutte, Dr. Michael Cook, Prof. Liz Hoyt, Mr. Don Huntington, Executive In Residence.
