As the semester reaches its completion and surrenders to the holidays, it is time to look back and reflect on the blessings of this past year as well as look forward to the exciting things ahead. This past year has brought about one of the largest incoming classes of business majors that we have seen in the last decade. It has brought about internship opportunities for our students in some of the top companies in Kansas City, and it has graduated another great cadre of new Jewell alumni.
This next year promises to be eventful as we launch Cardinal Days in January that will include topics about creativity and innovation, as we seek to hire three new faculty members in business, and as we say goodbye to a much beloved colleague, Michael Cook, as he retires this spring. The Hill is changing with new buildings, new initiatives and new faculty, and yet the values and foundations of a strong academic experience at Jewell remain the same.
So as we look backward and forward, we are thankful for wonderful students, great alumni, and new and old friends. I wish you the best for a wonderful holiday season. May you enjoy time with family and friends as you celebrate.
