By Kristin Stivers –  Construction of the new Pryor Learning Commons on the William Jewell College campus is well underway. The project is on schedule and targeted for completion in August of 2013. Exterior construction will continue through the fall months with work moving indoors during the colder winter.

Most interior elements and furnishings have been selected including furniture, flooring, paint, fixtures, rugs and wall decorations. The building will incorporate the latest in digital learning and communications capabilities such as high-speed Internet connections, video and conferencing technology.

Steven Anderson, Director of Facilities Management and Procurement, expects completion of the new Jewell Overlook Plaza on the east side of campus adjacent to Jewell Hall by the end of October. Bricks from the old water tower will be used to build a seat wall where the water tower formally stood.
