Jewell Accounting Professor Presents Best Teaching Methods

By Steven Schultz – Professor of Accounting Linda Bell co-presented with Dr. David Cornell, University of Missouri-Kansas City, at the 11th Annual Accounting Educators’ Seminar hosted by McGraw-Hill/Irwin and Johnson County Community College in spring 2012. The presentation, Best Teaching Practices, explained Professor Bell’s method of teaching the FIFO (first in, first out) and LIFO (last in, first out) inventory methods.

Professor Bell’s teaching methods have also been published in the 8th edition of Fundamental Financial Accounting Concepts by Edmonds, McNair, Milam and Olds.

Professor Bell joined the William Jewell College faculty in 1985. She received her MBA at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1984 and her B.S. in accounting at Fort Hays State University in 1979. She is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed by the State of Missouri.
