By Josiah Stegner — Dr. Kelli J. Schutte, Chair of Jewell’s Department of Business and Leadership, was recently honored with the Joe Saupe Award for Best First-time Presenter at the annual MidAIR (Mid-America Association for Institutional Research) conference in Kansas City. Dr. Schutte co-presented with Evelyn Eubank, a consultant for MBI and professor at the University of Kansas and Mid-America Nazarene University. Their topic was “Applying Corporate Organizational Development Methodologies to a Higher Education Institutional Setting.” Dr. Schutte explained the purpose of their presentation as “attempting to use a tool (ODM) that had been validated in the business world and use it for the same purposes in the academic world.” Jewell was the pilot school used in the process, and after seeing the results, about a dozen other schools will be using this tool as well. Schutte and Eubank will present their paper at the Association for Institutional Research international conference May 21-25 in Toronto, Ontario.
